All good things have to come to an end and our fantastic Japanese adventure is rapidly drawing to a close. Our guide can't believe how lucky we have been with the weather. He says he's never known it so perfect.
We woke this morning in the Ryokan after a surprisingly good nights sleep and soon had our maid knocking on our door wanting to put our beds away. No sooner had she done that our breakfast tray arrived.
After breakfast and a look around the tiny garden we set out for a last wander around Kyoto.

Eventually the group gathered and we were transported to the station to board the bullet train for Tokyo. It really is an amazing way to travel, so quick, precise, efficient and clean. Our train was 14:05 and we arrived in Tokyo at 16:06 on the dot. We then transferred platforms and boarded a local train which deposited us in the airport, where our hotel is for tonight. The only thing we now have to do is have a good nights sleep and be ready to leave the hotel at 8am tomorrow morning for our transfer to the international terminal.
All in all a very easy day and with a bit of luck and a tail wind we should be home late tomorrow afternoon.
